How old do you have to be to take the course?
Minimum age for our bartending course is 18 years old and over. As for our flair course, it’s 16 years old and over. Top

I have never worked in a bar or restaurant, does that matter?
NO! Most of our students have never bartended before and we have some who don’t even drink. By the end of the course they are capable, knowledgeable, excited and can compete with experienced bartenders. We often get experienced bartenders take our course for one reason or another. At the beginning of the course they are more knowledgeable and more capable but as the course progresses our students catch up to them and often pass them. The reason is that the new bartenders don’t have any established bad habits. As for the experienced bartenders, they have to break their bad habits in order to progress. Top

• Will I really be able to bartend at a high level after only 3 or 4 weeks?
Absolutely! Over 90% of our students graduate and that means you are a capable bartender. We put our reputation on the line with every diploma given. Still not convinced? Check out the student comments. Top

• I know nothing about drinks or liquor. I don’t even drink! Am I at a disadvantage?
Not at all. Most of our students have little or no knowledge of bartending, drinks or liquor. Some don’t even drink, yet by course end they were at the same level as the more knowledgeable students. It comes down to experienced bartenders who know how to teach and communicate with the students. Top

• What about ‘On-line’ bartending courses?
You can not learn professional bartending by reading a book, watching videotape, or through an on-line bartending course. It’s not about knowing recipes or by watching how to make a cocktail. Bartending is totally HANDS-ON. You simply cannot develop the skills, speed, ability to handle situations, and the confidence needed to work in a real bar from a book, video or computer. So don’t waste your money! Top

• Are all bartending schools the same?
Absolutely NOT! Prices vary from one school to another, as does the quality of instruction. Unfortunately some people are under the elusion that bartending is simply about learning to make a few drinks, hence all schools must be alike. NOT SO! You cannot relate price with quality when it comes to bartending schools. So do your homework first. Do not be pressured into signing up until you have checked out all the schools in your area.

At Absolute Bartending Institute you will find a relaxed atmosphere with friendly experienced teachers and no hard sells. We teach you what you need to know to work as a bartender TODAY not twenty years ago. Check out our school, talk to the students and staff, and see why we are the most recommended in the industry! Then go check out the competition! We are confident that you will come back. Top
